This policy explains how Electric Sheep Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit electricsheep.design: what they are, which ones we use and why, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our privacy policy.

01What cookies are

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or phone when you visit a website. They let the site remember you and your preferences, for a single visit or across repeat visits.

Similar technologies, such as tracking pixels, work in much the same way. This policy covers those too.

02How we use them

We use three kinds of cookie:

  • Necessary: one cookie that remembers your cookie choices. We can’t respect your choices without it, so it is always on.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, which tells us which pages people read and how they found us, so we can make the site better.
  • Marketing: the Meta Pixel, which lets us measure our adverts on Facebook and Instagram, and show them to people who have visited this site.

Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you switch them on. On your first visit, a banner asks whether you want to accept them, reject them, or choose. Until you accept, neither Google Analytics nor the Meta Pixel runs, and neither sets a cookie.

Both are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which holds them back until you choose. Tag Manager sets no cookies of its own.

Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you reached the site, your device and browser, and your approximate location. It does not store your IP address. The Meta Pixel records the pages you visit, and if you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta can link your visit to your account and use its own cookies to do so.

Google and Meta use what they collect under their own policies: the Google cookie policy and the Meta cookie policy. Our privacy policy explains our lawful basis, and how your data is protected when it leaves Jersey.

04Content from other sites

The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads, under Google’s cookie policy. If you would rather it didn’t, you can block third-party cookies in your browser.

05Changing your mind

You can change your choices at any time from Cookie settings, at the foot of every page. Switching analytics or marketing off removes the cookies they set.

You can also:

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics on every website with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
  • Control the adverts Meta shows you in the ad preferences of your Facebook or Instagram account.

06Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever we change the tools on our site, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If we add a new kind of cookie, the banner will ask you again.
