We collect as little as we can, and tell you plainly what that is.

Electric Sheep Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. This policy outlines how we handle your information in compliance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

01Data controller

Electric Sheep Limited is the “data controller” for the information collected via electricsheep.design.

  • Company name: Electric Sheep Limited
  • Email: hello@electricsheep.design
  • Address: 10 Minden Street, St Helier, Jersey JE2 4WR
  • Registration: 149505

02Personal information we collect

There is no form on this website. If you get in touch, you do it by email, and we collect:

  • Identity data: your name.
  • Contact data: your email address, and any other contact details in your signature.
  • Communication data: anything you choose to include in your email or its attachments.

When you visit the website, we also collect:

  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the page that referred you. This is recorded automatically in the request logs of Vercel, our hosting provider, for security and site performance.
  • Usage data: only if you accept analytics cookies, the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you found us, and your approximate location and device type, collected by Google Analytics.
  • Advertising data: only if you accept marketing cookies, the pages you visit, collected by the Meta Pixel so we can measure our adverts on Facebook and Instagram.

We do not run a mailing list.

03Lawful basis for processing

We process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity / pre-contractual steps: we process your name and email to respond to your specific request for a quote, service or information. This is a necessary step before potentially entering into a formal contract with you.
  • Legitimate interests: we process technical data and keep a record of enquiries to manage our business efficiently, respond to people who contact us, and keep the website secure.
  • Consent: we use analytics and marketing cookies only if you accept them, and you can withdraw that consent at any time fromCookie settings.

04How we use your information

We use your data strictly to:

  • Respond to enquiries you send us.
  • Provide information about our services that you ask for.
  • Maintain a record of business correspondence.
  • Keep the website secure and working properly.
  • Understand how the website is used, if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Measure our advertising, if you accept marketing cookies.

05Storage, security and retention

Emails you send us are stored in Google Workspace. Website request logs are held by Vercel. Both providers are ISO/IEC 27001 certified.

  • Retention: we keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes we collected it for. Vercel deletes request logs automatically after a short period, and Google Analytics keeps usage data for no longer than 14 months.
  • Security: we use appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access to, loss of, or disclosure of your data.

06International data transfers

Vercel, Google and Meta are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred to and stored there. Vercel also serves this website from a global network, so your visit may be handled in a data centre near you.

We make sure these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) recognised by the JOIC or under UK or EU law. All three are also certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Together these give your data a level of protection equivalent to Jersey law.

07Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your data. We only share it with:

  • Service providers: Vercel (website hosting) and Google (email, through Google Workspace, and Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies). They act as “data processors” and are contractually bound to protect your data.
  • Meta: if you accept marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel sends details of your visit to Meta Platforms, which uses them under theMeta Privacy Policy.
  • Legal obligations: where required by Jersey law or a regulatory body.

The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps. When it loads, your browser connects to Google directly, and Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google decides how it uses that information, under the Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive any of it.

08Data we process on behalf of clients

Where we build and maintain applications for clients, we act as a data processor. That processing is governed by a data processing agreement with each client and carried out on independently audited cloud infrastructure.

09Cookies

Apart from one cookie that remembers your choice, we only set cookies you have accepted. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and marketing cookies (the Meta Pixel) are off until you switch them on, and you can change your mind at any time from Cookie settings.

Our cookie policy lists every cookie we use, what it does and how long it lasts.

10Your statutory rights

Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): ask us to delete your data.
  • Right to withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.
  • Right to object or restrict: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to data portability: ask us to transfer your data to another service provider.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@electricsheep.design.
